Position Announcement: Executive Director

Elderhaus Adult Day Program, Inc., a Fort Collins based non-profit for 38 years that supports adults 18 years and older with special needs and empowers their caregivers, is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and organized leader to serve as executive director, overseeing all operations, financials, activities, and programs.   This person will be the primary interface between Elderhaus and the community, and will provide the vision and leadership to continue to grow Elderhaus’ services in Northern Colorado.

Job Description

The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.   The Executive Director is responsible for all organizational activities, including program execution, financial management, fundraising, marketing communications, strategic planning, and representing the organization within the community.   This position requires a caring, compassionate individual with a heart for adults with disabilities and their families.  Flexibility, responsiveness to interruptions and the ability to develop a positive environment will all be key success factors for this position.   

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Four year degree in related field (Human Services, Finance, Healthcare, Nonprofit Management, etc) preferred
  • Professional experience in working with disabled persons and gerontology preferred.
  • Greater than 3 years of supervision, management, and administration.  
  • Non-profit experience (finances, grants/foundations/fundraising, working  with volunteer boards, endowments, etc).

Job Specifics

40-50 hours per week, including some evening and weekend time.  This is an exempt salaried position.
